An ancient temple of Lord Muruga. On Kanda sasthi Thiru Vizha, Skandan was carried over goat Vahanam (Gida). In Harappan symbols, Murugan has (Aattu kida) Goat as his (Vahanam) Vehicle. Murugan is a Goat rider on East street. Ayiram Kaliamman temple is there. In Mailadi near Sirkali also, in Thiruvizha Murugan rides on Goat Vahana only. Once a king of Bengal worshipped this Amman with 1000 things. After his reign, the idol (Thirumeni) was sent into the sea. Amman came in the dream of an Adiyar here and as told by Amman, the Adiyar found this idol in the sea. But, he prayed that he could not submit 1000 things for Pooja. Amman told him to do that Poojance in five years.
