Jamathagni Munivar`s wife used to bring water from the river with a new pot daily. She had a power to make a new pot with the clay. But one day , while baking water with the pot from the river, a Kandaravan in his vimanam flew over the river. In a grace on the beauty of Kandharvan and Viman ,Jamadhagni`s wife was stunned. Hence, for Jamadhagni`s thabas, she could not bring water in a new pot.She failed.On noticing this, Jamadhagni got angry, and ordered his son Parasuramar to cut off her head. Parasuramar cut her head off. After requesting and pacified Jamadhagni, Parasuramar got the holy water from Jamadhagni, made his Mother (Renuga Devi) come alive. Parasuramar prayed to Lord Siva here for remedy to this sin of killing his own mother.Jamadhagri and Parasuramar blessed by Siva.
