Theerthavahu Munivar for doing Abisegam used to stretch his arms long to fetch water from the river to Moolavar. He prayed to Siva to have an ability to stretch his arms whereever required. Siva blessed him. Once he came here and began to do Abishegam by stretching his hands .The Soolam Theertham cursed the Munivar and his arms got stuck in the way as his hands stretched. The Saint prayed to Lord Siva. Siva blessed the saint to stretch or shortern the arms, whenever, he required.
