Vishnupuri, South kayilai, Govar, Kondrai Vanam, Indra Puri, Kanvar Ashram, Vaali Nagar, Aavur, Banapuri, and Konduyapuri are the other names of the village. Saptha Mathas, Kamadenu, Thirumal, Kanvar, Indran, Vaali, Brahman, and Suriyan worshipped here and were blessed by Siva. While playing with a flower ball, Umadevi threw the ball and it fell on Lord Siva. When Parvathi took the form of a cow and poured milk on the "putru," lord Siva gave darshan to her and married her.
