A famous temple of Lord Siva Agneeswarar and Ammai Karpaga Nayagi. Here Aradaththa Sivachariyar sat on red heated iron stool and preached "The hights of Saiva Sithantham". A seperate temple is here for him. Agni, Brahman, Parasarar, Chandran, Kamsan, Aradaththar, Suraikai Pathar, Mana Kancharar, and Kalikambar prayed here and were blessed by Lord Siva.

Manak Kanchara Nayanar was asked by Sivanadiyar to shave his daughter’s hair and to donate the hair of his daughter on the wedding day of her. Mana kanchanar asked her daughter whether she was willing to shave her hair on this auspious day of her. She permitted her father. Then the hair was shaved and donated to Sivanadiyar. Siva appeared and blessed the child and the father.
