A very ancient temple of Lord Siva Natrunai Nathar and Ammai Malaiyan Madanthai.

It is the birth place of Thirugnagn Sambandar's mother(Bagavathi Ammaiyar). Sambandar seated on his father’s shoulder visited this place and sang padigams. He changed the land to desert (Paalai), then to Seashore (Neythal) and then to fields (Marutham) by singing padigams on Siva. Appar andSundarar sang padigams. Agathiyar worshpped Lord Siva here and Saw Lord Siva’s marriage. The temple is also well known for architectural beauty.
