A very ancient temple of LordThirumeni Alagar and Ammai Alagiya Ammai. The road from ThiruVengadu to Manigramam was called “Akka Salai” (“Akkam” means coin). There is a note in Palasa vana puramam. In ancient times, Vallaban a Karnataka king gave birth to a leprosy handicapped child. The king ordered the soldiers to desert the child in Thandaga Vanam. That child came here and drank holy water from the Sivacharyar after Pooja Abhisegams. He was cured. His leprory also vanished. His limbs also grew and formed well. Thiru Maeni Alagar blessed him, gave 16000 elephants’ power and arrows and bow. Siva showed his parents and identified him whom he was. The lad went to Karnataka and ruled the State for a long time.
